Amazing Thailand
Welcome to the Kingdom of Thailand where east and west,
ancient and modern, exotic and erotic, calm and chaotic, clash and
collide in the most delightful ways. Your Well Traveled Thailand Tour
begins in Bangkok where you’ll discover the profound pleasures of
the ancient Thai massage, a rhythmic series of stretching movements
patterned on the “Asanas” of Hatha Yoga.
Bangkok has more than 400 temples but if there’s one must-see it’s
the Grand Palace, a square mile of gilded royal temples and palaces.
The ornate Wat Phra Keo houses the famous Emerald Buddha (actually
it’s made of jade). The Wat Pho is famous for its enormous Reclining
Buddha and it’s ancient school of Thai medicine and massage.
Please Note that to visit the temples you must wear
long pants or a skirt.
As a sign of respect, visitors must remove their shoes before entering
the temples. Also, you should never point your feet at Buddha.
As you’ve probably realized by now, Well Traveled Tours are journeys
that go beyond the beaten path. We’ll spend an afternoon at the Baan
Dvara Prateep Wellness House practicing the art of meditation and
deep-breathing techniques. You’ll enjoy a home-cooked healthy Thai
dinner on the terrace overlooking the river. Then we’ll take a short
flight north to the moated city of Chiang Mai.

By now you’ll have acquired a taste for spicy Thai food
and those incredible Thai massages. In Chiang Mai you’ll learn to
make classics such as Pad Thai noodles and zesty Tom Yam lemongrass
soup. And we’ll treat you to more Thai massage. We’ll have dinner
with a professor and learn about the culture and traditions of the
fascinating hill tribes who live here.
Where else but in amazing Thailand will you bathe an elephant then
climb aboard for a trek through the jungle, dine and dance with the
tribal people and receive a blessing from a Buddhist monk?
Now, we’ll fly south to Phuket on the Andaman Sea known for its idyllic
beaches, fabulous golf courses and water sports. You’ll have plenty
of free time to play in the pristine waters and enjoy the best seafood
in Thailand.
Your Well Traveled Tours winds up back in Bangkok for a grand finale
dinner, perhaps another massage and time to ponder this exotic and
wonderful place.
Thailand is the only Asian nation never colonized by western powers
and ninety percent of its gracious people practice Buddhism, a religion
that teaches compassion and forgiveness, rather than judgment. Maybe
that explains this culture that combines cool serenity, unpredictability
and the pleasure principle in the most serendipitous ways.
