Tour Details
Day 1 (Reception)
Arrival at Bangkok airport and transfer to the hotel. You are welcomed
with a Thai-styled flower garland as you meet your fellow passengers
at a welcoming reception. Your host will review the trip’s itinerary,
favorite restaurants and provide you with a certificate for a spa treatment
to be booked at your convenience.
Day 2 (Breakfast, Lunch)
After a bountiful breakfast you’ll be taken to the Grand Palace, a square
mile of gilded temples and palaces—ornate beyond your imagination. Your
guide will take you to see the famous Emerald Buddha (actually carved
of jade) in the Wat Phra Kaeo and the enormous Reclining Buddha, his
gigantic feet inlaid with mother-of-pearl at Wat Po. (A wat is a Buddhist
temple or monastery and you’ll discover thousands of them in Thailand.)
You’ll enjoy an outstanding Thai lunch buffet at Sala Rim Nam, the Thai
restaurant of the famous Oriental Hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya
River.
Access to the restaurant is via long tail boats Your afternoon is free
to enjoy your hotel spa treatment and explore. Bangkok is famous for
its shopping and made-to-measure bargains. If you’ll want to have something
made, bring along some pictures and order it now in order to allow sufficient
time for tailoring and fittings. In the evening you have the option
of sitting ringside to watch a rousing round of Thai boxing.
Please Note that to visit the temples you must wear long pants or
a skirt.
As a sign of respect, visitors must remove their shoes before entering
the temples. Also, you should never point your feet at Buddha."
Day 3 (Breakfast)
Participate in a Well Traveled Tours’ Tai Chi class and then enjoy a
comprehensive and delicious breakfast. Consider visiting the famous
floating market located about 80 Kilometers outside of Bangkok. Or enjoy
one of the world’s greatest meccas where name-brand luxury to local
handicrafts can be found – you can even order a custom- made suit at
a reasonable cost.
Day 4 (Breakfast, Dinner)
After a leisurely morning, transfer by long tail boat to Kred Island’s
Wellness House, Baan Dvara Prateep where you will practice basic breathing
techniques and meditation exercises and discover some ways to enhance
your general well being. Kred Island has a population of 3000 but has
no cars It's a full day on the island so there is plenty of time for
a leisure walk or bike ride.. Tonight’s home-cooked dinner is on the
terrace overlooking the river.
Day 5 (Breakfast, Lunch)
Today we take a short (one-hour) flight north to Chiang Mai near the
Myanmar (Burmese) border. After you check into the 4-star Tamarind hotel,
it’s time for blissful two-hour Thai massage. This evening you’ll be
escorted to Chiang Mai’s famous Night Market where you’ll bargain for
vibrant hand-woven Thai silks and handicrafts.
Day 6 (Breakfast, Lunch)
And now for something completely different... After an early breakfast
you’ll be transferred to the elephant park San Pa Tong Years ago elephants
hauled lumber, but when teak exportation dwindled many of these pachyderms
and their mahouts (trainers) became unemployed Fortunately, they are
now finding new careers in tourism. After you’ve given your elephant
a refreshing bath in the river, you’ll climb aboard for a trek through
the jungle, and then enjoy lunch back at the park.
Day 7 (Breakfast, Lunch, Diner)
Early every morning the saffron-swathed Buddhist monks walk from their
temples carrying alms pots. Their religion forbids the monks from asking
for food, so the tradition is to buy a basket containing some rice and
fruit from a street vendor, and take off your shoes, kneel down and
offer the basket to a passing monk. For this he’ll bless you. Whatever
your beliefs, this is one optional excursion you will find a serene
and spiritually rewarding way to start a day. After breakfast, you’ll
be transferred to the Chiang Mai Cooking School for a morning of slicing
and dicing and an introduction to the intricacies of Thai cooking, following
by a delicious lunch. Your afternoon is free for exploring.

Day 8 (Breakfast, Dinner)
Participate in a Well Traveled Tours Yoga class. This morning and afternoon
are at your leisure. Tonight we’ll visit a local hill tribe village and
join them for a campfire and traditional barbecue dinner. We have arranged
with a University Professor who will introduce you to the customs and
traditions of the many hill tribes.You’ll probably want to wear your hill
tribe outfit. We’ll enjoy a spicy Khantoke-style dinner served on small
round tables in an intimate setting. age and join them for a campfire
and dinner.
Day 9 (Breakfast)
Today we board our flight for Phuket where we’ll transfer to the Ban Thai
Hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy the beach and explore
this 4-star resort.
Day 10 (Breakfast)
Participate in a Well Traveled Tours Tai Chi class. After breakfast, you
have free time to yourself as there are many additional excursions offered
by the hotel so you may choose to participate in some of the optional
excursions such as a round of golf, cooking class and lunch , a sea canoe
tour or leisure day shopping in town..
Day 11 (Breakfast, Dinner)
Participate in a Well Traveled Tours Tai Chi class. This is your last
day to enjoy Phuket’s pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters. Swim,
snorkel, shop or snooze. The choice is yours. Tonight, we’ll meet for
our farewell dinner at the restaurant, known for its succulent seafood
and tropical treats.
Day 12 (Breakfast)
Today we board our flight back to Bangkok and check-in at the Sofitel
Central Hotel. Your day is free for last-minute sightseeing and shopping
and picking up your tailoring.
Day 13 (Breakfast)
Transfer to airport. Bangkok’s modern airport offers a last-minute opportunity
for a pre-flight massage or reflexology treatment—recommended for the
long flight home.
You’ll be taking home new life experiences, a refreshed and rejuvenated
body and spirit and fond memories of Thailand, truly “the land of smiles.”
